Doppelgänger

About The Band

If you were to look up the word “Doppelgänger” in a dictionary it would read: “A ghostly counterpart of a living person; one remarkably similar to another”…To meet Ken Waltham and Jim Lambert for the first time, you’d swear they were brothers, but besides their love for performing a great acoustic song in their unique musical style, nothing could be further from the truth as both are from very different backgrounds.

As an acoustic duo however, Doppelgänger has been entertaining listeners for several years now, taking pride in each performance; putting their own unique signature on each song presented while respecting the integrity of the story it tells, as well as the artist who created it.

Capturing multiple genres and eras in each set, the listener will no doubt be very pleased with their presentations of such classics from the musical catalogs of The Byrds, The Band, Gordon Lightfoot, The Beatles, Blue Rodeo, The Eagles, Tom Petty, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Neil Young, and many more.

Band Members
Ken Waltham – Guitar, Mandolin, and Vocals

Fun Fact: Based out of the Haldimand Norfolk area, Ken has been singing and playing professionally for over 35 years with such local bands as Haldimand County Line and most recently Summerfield.

A lover, collector, and player of vintage acoustic instruments, Ken truly brings the sonic purity of these well-crafted guitars and mandolins to life, with sounds reminiscent of many greats who came before him such as Doyle Lawson and Bill Monroe.

His love for history has also taken Ken to many different destinations across the globe and with each road traveled, he brings back stories that are sure to entertain the most inquisitive listener.

Jim Lambert – Guitar, Harmonica, and Vocals

Fun Fact: Jim resides in the Niagara region, and has been playing guitar, writing and performing music for well over 3 decades. Music has been an ever-present backdrop in Jim’s life, having grown up surrounded by a musical soundtrack compliments of Handel, The Monkees, and everything in between.

The most critical of these influences occurred from being exposed to gospel music at a very early age, allowing Jim’s ability to capture a melody and compliment with tight harmonies as the perfect counterpart to Doppelganger’s vocal harmonies.

Jim is a record collector and audiophile. In his spare time, you can see Jim spinning his favourite vinyl recording, operating audio equipment and simply wrapping the occasional cable.
