About The Band
The Danny Boys have been a Niagara based band for over 15 years performing at a wide variety of pubs, bar restaurants, festivals, corporate events, and weddings. Both musicians come from a musical background, having performed in professional bands, and shared the stage with some of Canada’s top acts including 54 40, Jann Arden, I Mother Earth, The Headstones, and Sloan. Throughout the years together as The Danny Boys, they have maintained their ability to deliver a full band sounding, two-piece acoustic performance that infuses the best of the best when it comes to Folk Rock, East Coast, and Irish music. Through their unique two-piece sound, high energy performances, and unbridled foot stomping audiences, The Danny Boys deliver a music experience that is sure to please. Their sonic connection with audiences is a result of years of interactive performances and a deep love for the music they perform. When you listen to the Danny Boys, you’ll hear classic hits from icons like The Tragically Hip, Great Big Sea, Mumford and Sons, The Irish Descendants, and Spirit of the West.
Band Members
Matt Miani – Vocals, guitar, harmonica
Fun Fact: Matt has been playing the guitar since the age of 9. He was first drawn to the energy and thrill of the stagy by watching his family members playing music at family reunions in North Bay. Matt first performed with a harmonica by using a clothes hanger and duct tape as a harmonica strap. From the time Matt had started playing the guitar to the present, he has purchased and lost 56,750 guitar picks.
