Ryan O’Reilly

About The Band
Ryan O’Reilly is a songwriter and storyteller raised in England with deep Irish roots — his father hails from Wicklow, and his mother, from Antrim, is a music journalist who once interviewed the legendary Shane MacGowan. Like Shane, Ryan spent every summer of his youth in Ireland, where he first learned to play music and soaked up the songs that would shape his life and career. That connection is captured in his song Wicklow, a tribute to the landscapes and memories that defined his upbringing.
He’s performed the Irish songs he grew up with across Japan and China, and toured Germany with Irish and Scottish songwriters in an “in-the-round” circle, sharing rebel ballads, pub anthems, and original songs about home and heritage.
From street-performing in London to studying poetry in Dublin, Ryan’s path has taken him across Europe and North America. His albums — including The Northern Line, I Can’t Stand the Sound, and Other Plans are rich with lyrical honesty and transatlantic storytelling. He has toured Europe with Canadian artists like Arkells, Jadea Kelly, and The O’Pears, and performed at one of Dwayne Gretzky’s legendary New Year’s Eve shows in Toronto.
