Event Details

Stuart McLean (1948-2017) left an indelible mark as a best-selling author, award-winning journalist, humorist, and the beloved host of CBC Radio’s The Vinyl Cafe. Beginning his broadcasting career with CBC Radio’s Sunday Morning, he amassed a global following with his relatable storytelling, sharing a rich tapestry of experiences, lessons, and music.

The heart of The Vinyl Cafe stories beats with the charm of Dave, the proprietor of “The Vinyl Cafe,” a secondhand record store. This engaging narrative introduces Dave’s wife, Morley, their children, Sam and Stephanie, along with an array of friends and neighbors.

Join us for a captivating 5-week tribute to the timeless stories of The Vinyl Cafe and the late Stuart McLean, narrated by the seasoned and charismatic Shane Carty. With 11 seasons at the Stratford Festival and 2 seasons with the Shaw Festival, Carty brings his veteran acting experience and TV personality to breathe life into these beloved tales, promising an unforgettable blend of humour, entertainment, and real-life insights. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the magic of The Vinyl Cafe, artfully presented by one of Canada’s top seasoned performers.
