Patsy & The Muscle
About The Band
Patrick & Matthew Vandersluys have been brothers ever since Matt’s birth on December 9th, 1986. Learning to sing and play the guitar from their uncle Michael, they quickly made a name for themselves around the neighbourhood bonfires in Niagara Falls, and have since expanded that neighbourhood to encompass all of the Niagara Region out to the greater Golden Horseshoe Region of Southern Ontario.
They share a love of musical styles that everyone can agree on, and you’ll hear them covering a variety of artists from the Pogues to Pearl Jam, Lead Belly to Led Zeppelin.
While you will never hear a perfect note-for-note version of any song they cover, they will argue that developing their own version allows them to bring their own creativity and style to what they do. They’ve also been known to say that playing songs in their own way is technically easier, and means no one can ever really say they played a wrong note.
However you frame it, and whether you decide you prefer the Patsy & The Muscle version over the original, it seems to be working for them. You can see them performing every week in venues all over the Niagara region, and they have recently earned the honour of being the 2023 House Band here at The Irish Harp Pub in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
If you like vocal harmonies, great tunes and good times, you’re going to enjoy Patsy & The Muscle.
